A twitter user was yesterday arrested after tweeting offensive material to Olympic diver Tom Daley.
After Daley and his diving partner, Pete Waterfield failed to gain a medal in the synchronised diving event, the user,Riley_69, tweeted Daley saying "you let your dad down I hope you know that" after this he continued to post hate towards Daley after he replied with "I try my hardest, and this is what I get"
He then went on to have arguments with other twitter users and tried to back track and apologise, tweeting #teamdaley. After this failed, he resorted back to abusing the Olympian.
As disgusting as I think online bullying is, this is just one case and hundreds occur every day without police intervention. In my opinion any form of online bullying should result in sanctions and the deletion of online accounts.
